I began making jewellery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is where I met who was to become my teacher, mentor and friend, artisan Shaughan Williams. He was the first to introduce me to the world of metal work...and I worked with him for over a year before enrolling in an introductory silver smithing course at the Nova Scotia School of Art and Design. I then traveled to New Zealand and worked with jeweller Ben Flynn, as well as some other local designers there. Upon returning to Canada in 2002, I enrolled in a Jewellery Techniques course through Vancouver Community College, and studied with Dominique Brechault. Since then, I've been building up my studio, and teaching myself new skills. So...chance encounters with talented and generous artists, a bit of schooling and a lot of patience with my own process of trial and error have brought me to today...I am currently working out of a cozy studio in my home in Vancouver.
